Day 3 - Ushuaia
Breakfast. Excursion: Trekking and Navigation (National Parks). For people
who want to walk along easy and undemanding paths and sail on a Zodiac
along the Beagle Channel. Not for very old people. Between 9 and 9:30
am we pick you up at the hotel and take NR Nº 3 westwards. We arrive to
the National Park, and after we pay the entrance fee (not included), we
go to the coastal path. This path, (2 and ½ hours) is doubtlessly the
most beautiful in the Park with lots of vegetation (High Deciduous Beech,
Low Deciduous Beech, Evergreen Beech, Winterbark, Firebush, etc.). Unbelievable!!!.
Then we board an 18 people Zodiac –very stable and board in a rock called
«The Rock». We sail along the Beagle Channel to the Sealions´Island, then
we border Redonda Island and have a view of Imperial Cormorants that nestle
in a rocky wall of the isle. We disembark on the island and have lunch
in a refuge (what a view!!!). Lunch is homemade pasta and drinks included
are red wine, sodas and mineral water. After lunch you have some free
time to walk around the island (It´s a natural reserve and it has been
opened to the tourists a couple of years ago. Wonderful!!!). There are
two paths, 20 minutes each. At 3.00 pm we will head to Lapataia Bay and
along this trip we will see some of the most beautiful seabirds of the
Argentinian South (Albatrosses, Petrels, Snowy Sheath Bills and sometimes
Penguins). We arrive to Lapataia Bay, end of the Panamerican Road, end
of the world, pure beauty. From here we will walk two short paths: Lapataia
and Las Lengas lookout to end near Laguna Verde, where our van is waiting
to take us back to Ushuaia. Lodging.
Length: 5/6 hours
Vehicle: Van
