Culinary Safari

  A Safari for people who enjoy good cuisine combined with moderate adventure. A weekend full of exotic aromas, flavors and sensations that show us the wealth of the sea, the southern fields and the pristine nature of lakes and volcanoes. Day 1 - Santiago - Puerto Varas
Flight in the evening Santiago-Puerto Montt. Arrival at airport The Tepual. Transfer from airport El Tepual-Puerto Varas. Accommodation at Hotel Cabañas del Lago or a family hotel. We have selected the best hotels in the area, if you choose a family hotel, we guarantee you a calm atmosphere, with excellent personal service. (Every hotel has king-size beds and private bathroom). 22:30 Hrs. Welcome cocktail with the best seafood of the area and a selected Chilean wine. Chilean cabernets have been awarded international prizes several times. At the turn of the century a vine disease struck France, Germany and California, destroying many of the best grapes. Because of Chile´s remoteness, its grapes have never been struck by natural disasters. Therefore the vineyards have the best grapes in the world. We will serve these fine and delicious wines. It is interesting to know that France is one of the largest importers of Chilean wines. Spend the night in a selected hotel.

 

Day 2 - Culinary Safari
We will visit the traditional Fish market of Angelmó in a very comfortable 4x4 Ford truck equipped with panoramic windows. Our guide, and Chef, will show us the diverse types of fish and shellfish. He will teach us how to choose, eat and of course how to prepare them. Later, we will stop in a southern field, to visit the surroundings and Richard will serve us a Gulasch-suppe and fresh salads that we will eat either inside or outside of the house depending on the weather at that time. From Totoral we will go skirting the majestic lake Llanquihue heading for the Volcano, visiting Frutillar, Puerto Octay, Cascada and Ensenada to end in Puerto Varas. The itinerary will be even more flavorful spiced with Chilean red wine, various delicious cheeses and fresh Italian bread. Next to the lake, where we will have a great view of the lakes and volcanoes we will toast with a winter champagne. Whoever wishes, can also have coffee with the traditional southern Kuchen. 20:00-23:00 hrs. In the city of Puerto Varas we will get to know the good cuisine and warm atmosphere of the Merlin Restaurant with its various offers of regional and external dishes. You will be served original Chilean cuisine which is a rich combination of national influences as well as culinary traditions from Spain, France, Germany, and Italy. All the components-- meats, vegetables, fruits and seasoning-- are Chilean. Later at night we recommend you to head towards the casino of Puerto Varas. Spend the night in a selected Hotel.

 

Day 3 - Puerto Varas - Santiago
00 Hrs Transfer out . 15:25 Hrs. Flight Puerto Montt -Santiago with Ladeco
