Day 1 - Shungu
Huasi -Tupigachi - Shungu Huasi (Ridingtime 4:00hrs)
We get ready to set off with our horses by 9 am, and start our journey
towards the plains of Tupagachi and part of the Cayambe Valley. Here we
will follow the railway line, either walking, trotting or galloping, with
the beautiful backdrop of snowcapped Cayambe and its surrounding scenery.
On this ride we will come across several farms with crops and cattle,
as well as rose plantations, which we have the option of visiting on our
way back to Shungu Huasi. This ride will take about 4 or 5 hours, giving
us time to take photos along the way, have our box lunch and be back at
the hotel by 2pm.

Day 2 - Shungu
Huasi - Ancholag - Shungu Huasi (Ridingtime 4:00hrs)
After breakfast we set off on our trusty steeds at about 9am, heading
towards Ancholag, where we reach El Blanquillo Valley after 3 hours' riding.
Here we can enjoy the spectacular view of all the mountains and in particular
of snow-capped Cayambe (5,790m), and can ride among a great herd of alpaca
and wild highland cattle. We can also take in the variety of vegetation
offered by the Andean paramos and maybe catch a glimpse of the magnificent
Condor living in this area. At midday both horses and riders take a rest,
enjoy a box lunch and get our strength back to return to the home comforts
of Shungu Huasi.

Day 3 - Shungu
Huasi - Sto Domingo - Shungu Huasi (Ridingtime 5:00hrs)
Setting off early as usual, at 9am, after breakfast in the hotel, we head
for the highland community of Santo Domingo 1, taking two hours there
and two hours back. Here there are breath-taking views of the Cayambe
Valley. We can also take in the variety of crops, fields and woods that
the area has to offer and understand ow the local people can be self-sufficient,
basically living off agriculture and cattleraising. As usual we will find
a suitable spot to rest our horse and ourselves, and have our box lunch
before heading back, this time through Santo Domingo 2, which has similar
vegetation and panoramic views. Return to Shungu Huasi at 2pm.

Day 4 - Shungu
Huasi - Pie Monte - Shungu Huasi (Ridingtime 7:00hrs)
As usual we set off at 9am, this time riding towards Pie Monte hacienda,
where we will start to skirt the town of Cayambe. As we ride on, we come
across the vast open landscapes and plains of the unmistakable Andean
paramo with its unrivalled valleys. We reach an altitude of 3,800m, from
where we can admire the snowcapped peak of Cayambe in all its glory. We
will take a break here to take photos and have our box lunch. We return
by various bridle paths, surrounded by nature at its best, with a continuing
spectacular view of the valley until reaching our starting point at 4pm.
